Did you know that the Democratic Party Symbol was originally a rooster? It was first introduced in Greenfield for the 1840 Presidential Campaign. The rooster was later adopted by the state and national Democratic parties. But it was only used sporadically, and by 1880, the Democratic Party Symbol was nationally declared a Donkey.
